Mar 6, 2016: Imperio delivers

The show at Dortmund was well-prepared: To get Imperio into "show-mood", we took part in the the Trakehner Stallion Presentation at Münster the weekend before (although he is not on stud currently). During the warm-up, he was quite tense, but performed a really great Grand Prix in the ring.

This way proved to be right, because now at Dortmund, Impi was just great. It was a big pleasure riding him, great in connection and submission. We've further improved Piaffe and Passage, the extensions were just as nice as the half-passes. To me, it felt like in the good old Wansuela-times... This was underlined by the applause we received, and several watchers came up to me and praised our performances.

Still, we did not end up higher than on rank four. In the Grand Prix, it was a tight decision, as we finished seven points behind the pair on rank three (73,34 %). For the Spécial, we got 74 per cent - in my eyes, it could have been more, and others thought the same.

Well, useless thinking about it. Hagen will be our next show, and we will see how it goes there.
