Wansuela suerte
Highly talented, very sensitive, and often overzealous: That was "my" Wansuela suerte. The Hanoverian chestnut mare (Warkant x Wachmann I) showed great talent for piaffe and passage very early on and won her first Grand Prix when she was eight years old. I owe my greatest successes to her: team gold and fifth place in the individual classification in Athens 2004, team gold at the European Championships 2005 and World Championships 2006, and the silver medal in the individual at the European Championships 2005.
Breeder of Wansuela is Conrad Hogrefe. At the Verden Spring Auction 1997 Martina and Guenter Teichert bought the five-year-old who was listed in the catalogue under "As never before". Teicherts chose the new name, "the Friendly", which was extremely appropriate. How gratifying that I got the horse in training!
In 2008 we took the mare out of sport. But at that time she was far too fit for a real pensioner's life, so I was glad to hand her over to Joanne Stoudenmier in Florida as a high-quality leisure partner. With lots of grazing she had an ideal early retirement life. She continued to be exercised regularly, and I also taught them on courses. The last time was in spring 2014 - the piaffes and passages were still outstanding. In January 2015 Wansuela had to be put down after an injury, she was 22 years old at that time.
